Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 – 6:00 \ Sat 9:00 – 13:00 (#Shift work is required for event support)
Job Summary:
- The IT Assistant is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to users within the organization.
- This includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues, installing and configuring computer systems, and maintaining the overall technology infrastructure.
- The IT Assistant works closely with the IT department to ensure efficient and reliable technology operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to and resolve user requests and inquiries related to hardware, software, and network connectivity issues in a timely manner
- Perform routine maintenance and updates on computer systems, including installing and configuring software, managing user accounts, and applying security patches
- Assist with the setup and deployment of new hardware and software, including laptops, desktops, and peripherals
- Provide end-user training and support on the use of various software applications and IT systems
- Maintain detailed records and documentation of all IT support activities and resolutions
- Collaborate with the IT team to identify and implement process improvements to enhance the user experience
- Escalate complex or unresolved issues to the appropriate IT specialists or managers
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with users
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in a technical support or IT assistant role
- Proficient in the use of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office suite, and common software applications
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve a variety of technical issues
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
- Willingness to learn and stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and IT trends
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Wi-Fi and, Cabling is preferred.
- Familiarity with Ticketing or Helpdesk Software
