Duration:             6 months

Location:             Tsuen Wan (most likely 70%) / Shaukeiwan

Working Hours: 

• They will do 12 hours shift with average 40 hours a week, means 3-4 shifts a week 
• Shift work may be required, including nights, weekends, and holidays to support 24/7 operations.
• Ability to respond promptly to critical incidents outside regular working hours.

Job Summary:

• Seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Data Centre Batch Operator to join our team.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for the creation, deployment, monitoring, and management of batch jobs within our data centre environment to ensure smooth, timely, and error-free processing of critical business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Job Creation: Design and configure batch jobs according to business requirements and operational standards, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Job Deployment: Schedule and deploy batch jobs using enterprise job scheduling tools, coordinating with relevant teams to align with business timelines.
• Job Monitoring: Continuously monitor batch job execution to ensure successful completion, promptly identifying and resolving any issues or failures.
• Incident Management: Respond to job failures or system alerts, perform root cause analysis, and escalate issues as necessary to minimize downtime.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of batch job configurations, schedules, changes, and incident reports.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize batch processing workflows and recommend enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with application support teams, system administrators, and business stakeholders to ensure batch jobs meet operational needs.
• Compliance and Security: Adhere to data centre policies, security protocols, and compliance requirements during job handling and data processing.
• Reporting: Generate and distribute regular reports on batch job status, performance metrics, and incident trends to management.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Batch Operator, Data Centre Operator, or similar role in IT operations.
• Strong knowledge of Batch Job scheduling tools, e.g., Control-M, Autosys, HCL Workload Scheduler (formerly IBM Workload Scheduler), etc.
• Familiarity with Mainframe and Distributed Systems Batch processing environments.
• Basic Scripting skills (e.g., Shell, Python, PowerShell) to troubleshoot and automate tasks.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Understanding of ITIL processes and incident management is a plus.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL Foundation, Control-M, HCL Workload Scheduler certification) are advantageous.
